Background

The Ronald D. & Regina C. McNeil Foundation, Inc. is a private not-for-profit founded in 2002. The McNeil Scholar Program-Detroit was established by The Foundation in 2007 for high school graduates of the Detroit Public Schools Community District matriculating to accredited institutions of higher education within the state of Michigan or to one of the five United States Military Academies. Scholarship awards of $500 to $5000 are made on an annual basis and are renewable for three consecutive years. Recipients are named McNeil Scholars.

Guidelines & Requirements

First time applicants are those students who are graduating seniors from a Detroit Public Community District High School and are applying for the first time.

  • Applicants must be attending an educational institution in the State of Michigan

  • Application deadline is typically April 15th (early applications are encouraged)
